Oil Spill Detection With Radar - Technical Demonstration

NortekUSA will host a technical demonstration of the SeaDarQ oil spill detection and hydrography radar in Miami, 16-17 May.

NortekUSA, in partnership with the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, will be hosting a technical demonstration of the SeaDarQ oil spill detection and hydrography radar system in Miami, Florida during the Volvo Ocean Race stopover. Details about SeaDarQ's capabilities may be found on the product page

Technical staff from the Nortek SeaDarQ radar group will deploy a system locally. A small oil spill will be simulated and the system’s oil spill detection features will be demonstrated. The hydrography feature of SeaDarQ, which allows users to predict movement of an oil spill, may also give attendees a view of the ocean currents where the boats will be racing. The event is free of charge and reservations will be taken until available space is filled.

Additionally, there will be a limited amount of spots available to tour the Nortek-sponsored PUMA Ocean Racing boat on May 17th for those interested sailing fans. Please inquire when reserving your space for the demonstration.
